This Privacy Policy describes how Tend — Habit Tracker (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles your information when you use our mobile application available on Google Play. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

1.1 Information You Provide

All content you create within the App is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. This includes:

Habit data — habit names, colors, icons, schedules, recurrence settings, and repetition counts
Calendar marks — records of your daily habit completions
Notification schedules — times you set for habit reminders
App preferences — language, theme, time zone, clock format, and first day of week settings

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal contact information.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

a) Crash and Performance Data (Sentry)

We use Sentry (https://sentry.io), a third-party error monitoring service, to help us identify and fix issues. When an error occurs, Sentry may collect:

Device information (device model, operating system version)
App state at the time of the crash (stack traces, error messages)
Performance metrics (app launch time, screen load times)
IP address (collected as part of standard network requests to Sentry servers)
Session replay data to help diagnose issues

Sentry crash reporting may be active when you use the App. Sentry does not collect the habit content you create in the App, such as habit names, schedules, or completion history.

b) Device Language and Time Zone

The App reads your device language and time zone to set default preferences. This information is used only for app functionality and is stored on your device.

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use information for the following purposes:

To provide core App functionality — All habit tracking data is processed locally on your device to display your habits, track progress, calculate streaks, and manage reminders.
To improve the App — Crash reports and performance data help us identify bugs and optimize the user experience.

3. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

3.1 Local Storage

All your habit data, calendar marks, notification schedules, and preferences are stored in a local SQLite database on your device. This data is not uploaded to any server and remains entirely under your control.

3.2 Data Backup and Export

The App provides a data export feature that allows you to create a JSON backup file of all your data. This file is saved to your device and can be shared via your device’s sharing capabilities. You may also import a previously exported backup file to restore your data. These operations are entirely user-initiated and do not involve any external servers.

3.3 Data Security

Since your data is stored locally on your device, it is protected by your device’s built-in security features (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We recommend keeping your device software up to date and using appropriate security measures.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We share limited data with the following third-party services solely to operate and improve the App:

Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) — Receives crash reports and performance data. Data is processed in accordance with Sentry’s privacy policy (https://sentry.io/privacy/).
Google Play Services — If you installed the App from Google Play, Google may collect data as described in their privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).

5. PERMISSIONS

The App requests the following device permissions:

Exact Alarm / Notifications — Used to schedule habit reminder notifications at the times you specify. You can manage or revoke notification permissions at any time through your device’s system settings.

The App does not request access to your camera, photos, contacts, location, microphone, or any other sensitive device capabilities.

6. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since the App does not collect personal information or require account creation, there is minimal risk of inadvertent collection of children’s data.

7. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Delete your data — You can delete individual habits or all your data at any time from within the App. Since data is stored locally, deleting the App from your device removes all associated data.
Export your data — You can export all your data as a JSON file at any time using the App’s built-in export feature.
Control notifications — You can enable or disable notification reminders for individual habits within the App, or revoke notification permissions entirely through your device’s system settings.
Manage crash reporting — Crash reporting through Sentry is included in the App to help us improve stability. If you wish to limit data sent during crashes, you may disable network access for the App through your device settings.

8. DATA RETENTION

Local data — Retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
Crash reports — Retained by Sentry in accordance with their data retention policies (typically 90 days).

9. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Crash reports may be processed by servers located outside your country of residence. Sentry maintains appropriate safeguards for international data transfers in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

10. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
